2023 Scotland – September 20

2023 Scotland – September 20

Still very windy and rainy again today but there is an occasional break, so we decide to go visit Liam Griffin and show Brandi Tigh Beg Croft (My favorite place) where we stayed in 2017.

The Church at Kilbride is an interesting place and the only thing that might be more interesting than the church and cemetery is the owner and caretaker Liam Griffin. We 1st met Liam in 2017 and Sharon, Kathi, & Jerry have followed and kept in touch with him some since then. He is a little older and moves a little slower (As we all do) but he is still quite the talker and singer. We had quite a good time listening to him talking and singing about the history of Kilbride.

The trip to Tigh Beg Croft was a bit of a disappointment as we got pretty close but the gate for the last half mile was pretty tightly secured and the group by a 4 to 1 vote decided not to do a breaking and entering scenario.

We head back to Island View but did stop for lunch at the Tigh an Truish located at the foot of the Clachan Bridge (AKA as Bridge Over The Atlantic).

If you would like to see more of Tigh Beg Croft (did I mention how much I loved it).
Here are some Links to our 2017 visit at Tigh Beg Croft.
Day 1
Day 2
Day 3
Day 4
I’ll stop adding the links now as apparently I don’t know when to stop but you can certainly visit the other days as you wish.
